Vintage 30s Black Silk Kimono Hand-Embroidered Gold Bullion Dragons & Pagoda
Lovely vintage Japanese black silk kimono with hand applied gold bullion thread. Featuring three dragons, pagoda, hut & clouds. Everything but the gold bullion is hand-embroidered. The gold thread embroidery is hand stitched to the kimono with red silk thread. There are a couple loose ends that are shown in the photos. The sash is 50 long and has some slight damage from being pinned to the kimono. The lapel also has a small hole in the silk. It is just back from the cleaners where I had it pressed, not cleaned! There may be some small spots you wish to hand clean but, overall, it looks pretty amazing. My lady at the cleaners is Korean and she said it was very old, probably from the 30's or early 40's, and 100% silk. From the nape to the hem measures 53 1/2", the shoulders measure 25" seam to seam and from edge to edge on the sleeves, it measures 49. The silk lining is in excellent condition. There may be some loose threading that I have missed as it is very busy but I think I have covered everything in the description and photos.
